Cover May Be a Fanciful Pete Cullers

In response to David Mays request for rowing sailing ketch, lapstrake-Whitehall style info, I believe this may be a somewhat fanciful but very close to Pete Cullers 17-foot, described in his own plan book. His later plan of the 17 ‘8’’ Concordia sloop boat was widely known but I believe it was a bit tender. His later plan of the 18’8’’ Buzzards Bay sloop was a bigger, more burdensome boat, and rectified the previously mentioned shortcomings in the Concordia. Both are discussed in “Wooden Boat” 122:84.

TTPYC Thanks You for Helping Us Help Others The Three Tree Point Yacht Club 2010 Community

Outreach had a great year, and we want to thank our many sponsors and prize givers. Our nine major sponsors were Cox Financial, Dave’s Dive Service, North Sails, Ullman Sails, Doyle Sails, B&E meats, Emerald Cove Catering, Burien City Garage, and the Des Moines City Marina. Our most generous prize donors also came through providing prizes which helped get out the participation, CSR Marine, Fisheries Supply, 48° North, and NW Yacht Rigging. The summer events included a Boats-for-Beds sailboat ride and dinner, and the Mid Sound Sailing Social. The participants were treated to casual sailboat racing, fantastic weather and great food at the conclusion. The charity events raised almost $9,000 for the Hospitality House and over 4,700 pounds of food for the Des Moines food bank. The members of TTPYC are proud to be part of the northwest boating community and be able to help out those who really need it.
