VASCD 2010 Annual Conference Speaker: DOuG REEVES
Leadership and Learning 2010: Transforming Lead- ership Decisions Into Student Results
With compelling new evidence for 2010, Dr. Douglas Reeves provides insights for leaders, policymakers, and educators on what works – and what doesn’t – to improve student results and educa-
tional equity. “When budgets are too constrained, ” Dr. Reeves suggests, “educational leaders
must focus energy, time, and resources on those few decisions that yield the best results. They also need an objective mechanism for deciding what to stop doing.” In addition to providing in- formation on successful high-poverty schools, Dr. Reeves will share his latest research on both high and low performing schools around the nation.
Dr. Douglas Reeves is the founder of The Leadership and Learning Center. The author of more than 20 books and many articles on leadership and organizational effectiveness, he has twice been named to the Harvard University Distinguished Authors Series. Dr. Reeves was named the Brock International Laureate for his contributions to education. He also re- ceived the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the Parents Choice Award for his writing for children and parents.
