Description: The presenters will share how they have used Japanese styled Lesson Study as professional development for teachers of mathematics and science. using this protocol allows teachers to drive the process and complete action-based research to deepen their content knowledge and pedagogy. Description: This workshop will focus on sharing the key components of the school improvement process that directly affected the significant increase in student performance, as measured by the Spring 2010 Standards of Learning scores. All areas pertinent to the school improvement process will be addressed. The session will conclude with a “question and answer” session for participants to interact with McCleary teachers who were responsible for ensuring school improvement efforts were implemented with integrity.
