CALL OF DUTY: Black Opsheld on to the top spot this week, fighting off tough
competition from World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, FIFA 11 and more.
It’s the fourth No.1 for Black Opsfrom ACTIVISION since the game went on sale last month. It saw a two per cent week-on-week sales increase, putting it one place ahead of EA football simulation FIFA 11.
The biggest new release of the week is Cataclysmfrom BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT which sits at No.3. The third expansion for the popular MMO sold a record 3.3m copies worldwide within its first 24 hours on sale, making it the best- selling PC game in terms of day one sales. It is the first Warcraftexpansion available at retail and digitally. It also beat the launch of previous expansion Wrath of the Lich Kingby 500,000 units, which shifted 2.8m copies on day one.
UBISOFT and SONY managed to retain a Top Five position with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhoodand Gran Turismo 5in fourth and fifth position respectively.
Other than Cataclysm, the only other title to break into the Top 40 this week is Epic Mickeyfrom DISNEY at No.37. Price promotions for Red Dead Redemptionsaw the ROCKSTAR shooter re- enter the charts at No.38, while the zombie version of the game, Undead Nightmare, remains steady at No.16.
NINTENDO take three places in the Top 10 with Donkey Kong Country Returns, Professor Layton and the Lost Futureand Wii Fit Plus.
