Drew Brees passed ArchieManning
asNewOrleans’sall-timeleadingpass- er, then rallied the Saints to their fifth straight win with some Oscar-worthy impromptu at the line of scrimmage in the finalminute. Down by three, the Saints drove to a
fourth and two at the Cincinnati 7-yard line. They called a timeout, huddled on the sideline, then ran onto the field hoping to lure the Bengals into an offsides penalty. Breesmoved around and lined up under center as the play clock ran down, acting as if he was going to take a snap. The gambit worked. Lineman Pat

its high-powered offense finally finding its stride. The Saints have scored at least 30 points in each of the last four games. For Cincinnati, it was another unbe-
lievable ending in a season quickly becoming one of itsworst. The defend- ing AFC North champions have lost nine in a row. The Bengals failed to sell out their
second straight home game on a snowy,30-degree afternoon. Manning threwfor21,734yards in11

Manning’s fourth interception leads to winning kick in OT
BY MICHAELMAROT
indianapolis — Peyton Man- ning keeps making mistakes and the Indianapolis Colts just keep losing. On Sunday, Manning had two
of his four interceptions returned for touchdowns and the last one set up David Buehler’s 38-yard field goal in overtime to give Dallas a 38-35 victory at India- napolis. It’s the third consecutive loss

for the Colts (6-6), and it dropped Indianapolis out of theAFCSouth lead. Manning has thrown 11 inter- ceptions in those games — a career high for any three-week period in his 13-year career—and has had four of those returned for scores. Reggie Wayne finished Sunday’sgamewith 14 catches for 200 yards and a touchdown. But it wasManning’s last inter-
ception that proved the most costly. When the four-time league
MVP tried to hook up with Jacob Tamme on a third-and-one play, Mike Jenkins got his left hand on the ball and tipped it to lineback- er Sean Lee, who grabbed his second pick of the day and ran it back 13 yards to the Indy 36. Six plays later, Buehler made
the field goal to win the first overtime game played at Lucas Oil Stadium. Manning was 36 of 48 for 365
yards with two TDs and the four picks.
Dallas (4-8) won for the third
time in four games since Jason Garrett took over as interim coach, and they won this one on the ground. The Cowboys rushed for a season-high 217 yards. The difference, as it usually is, was Manning, who threw two

more interceptions in his first seven attempts. But Manning still gave the
Colts a chance. Indy didn’t take the lead until
Taj Smith blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone to make it 28-27 with 12 minutes 56 seconds left in the game. Dallas answered with a season-
long 18-play drive that took 10:18 and included a personal foul pen- alty against Indy’s Eric Foster for leverage. Itendedwith a two-yard TD pass from Jon Kitna to Jason Witten and Kitna’s conversion
JAGUARS17,TITANS6 Maurice Jones-Drew and the Jack-
sonville Jaguars are having fun trying to run their way to an AFC South title. Jones-Drew turned in the NFL’s second-best rushing effort of the sea- son with 186 yards on 31 carries, and Rashad Jennings and QB David Gar- rard each ran for a touchdown in Jacksonville’s win against Tennessee. With their fourth win in five games,
the Jaguars took over first-place in the AFC South, a game ahead of the Colts, who lost to Dallas 38-35 in overtime. Jones-Drew has run for at least 100
yards now in five straight games, but his latest may have been his easiest. “I only had to make one guy miss
most of the time, and the guys were doing a great job of keeping guys off me,” Jones-Drew said. “That perfor- mance was a total team effort.” The Jaguars earned a bit of revenge
fora30-3 loss to TennesseeonOct. 18 by taking control on the ground from the start on a cold, windy day. They scored on their opening drive by run- ning over the Titans to split the season series. Jennings scored on an 11-yard run to cap the 12-play, 77-yard drive. “They are a physical team, and we
had to be physical today,” Jaguars center Brad Meester said. “We were able to run the ballandkeeppounding it, and that was key for us.” Tennessee started veteran Kerry
Collins at quarterback with offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger in the press box calling plays days after starting chemotherapy for cancer. The Titans have now gone 13 quarters without an offensive touchdown and lost their fifth in a row. “We have to play perfect right now,
and we’re not doing that,” Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said.

BROWNS13, DOLPHINS10
As Miami and Cleveland traded
punts and mistakes, the questionwas which team would find a way to lose, and a last-minute Dolphins turnover gave the Browns the win. Mike Adams’s interception set up a
23-yard field goal by Phil Dawson on the final play. With the city of Cleveland stinging
from Thursday’s loss to anotherMiami team and LeBron James, the Browns provided some salve. They won for the fourth time in six games, and for the first time in Miami since 1970. The inconsistent Dolphins followed
a win with a loss for the fifth time this season, hurting their already slim playoff hopes. Miami has lost seven of its past eight home games, including five of six this season. “It’s not fun losing at home,” saidQBChad Henne, who threw three interceptions. When Browns LB David Bowens
deflected Henne’s final pass with a minute left and the score tied, Adams snatched the ball and ran 25 yards to the 2. “I got an early Christmas gift,” Adams said. “It got deflected, and I just grabbed onto it.” Then on fourth down, the Browns
won on Dawson’s kick. “This was what we talked about it
being. It’s going to be a tough game, it’s going to be a physical game, and it’s going to come down to the end,” Cleveland Coach Eric Mangini said. Until the last minute, the biggest
excitement came via another kick: The Dolphins’ Dan Carpenter hit a 60-yard field goal, which tied for the fifth-longest in NFL history. Mistakes plagued both teams —
there were 16 punts and only six third-down conversions. Miami had a field-goal try blocked, and Dawson missed when he hit an upright.
