AN INNOVATIVE GATHERING
More than 300 marketers who attended the Marketing Institute’s 31st National Marketing Conference in the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin on 3 November heard from a range of expert speakers about the importance of innovation for both individ- ual businesses and for the economy as a whole.
The conference was formally opened by Eamon Gilmore TD, leader of the Labour Party, after a wel- come address from Michael Carey, chairman of the Marketing Institute and chairman of Jacob Fruitfield Food Group. Newstalk presenter and entrepreneur Ivan Yates chaired the conference. Speakers for the day included economist Brian Lucey, associate professor of finance at Trinity College Dublin; Anne Sawbridge, global product innovation director at Cadbury; author and consult- ant, Martin Thomas; entrepreneur Jerry Kennelly; author and chief innovation evangelist for InnoCentive, Stephen Shapiro; and Patou Nuytemans, chief digital officer at Ogilvy Europe.
