of 3.6". Both slides in the 2SUM package deal come equipped with SIGLITE Night Sights with a Nitron finish on the slide. The full-size P250 does feature an integral accessory rail dust cover, while the subcompact model doesn’t. Magazine capacity of the 9mm full size is 17 rounds and the 9mm subcompact 12 rounds. Of course, the trigger pull is the same considering the same fire control chassis is used in both the full-size and subcompact frames that come in the 2SUM package.
Systematic Approach It’s best to think of the SIG P250
lineup of handguns as a “system” stretching
from the subcompact
through the full-size model. Every SIG P250 shares a lineage back to the fire control chassis and trigger pull. The SIG P250 “secret” is minimal operating controls, high-cartridge capacity to size ratio, and relentless reliability. While the grip size may change between the SIG P250 sub- compact and full size, the position of the slide and magazine releases will instantly be familiar. Numerous times I have seen new
handguns failing to perform out of the box. Manufacturer and price range serve as no guarantee that a handgun is immune from such issues. Yes, many deficiencies are quickly remedied by “breaking” in a pistol by use or making slight adjustments to various parts, but I found the SIG P250 rock solid right out of the box. I spent a few weeks moving be-
tween the various SIG P250 configu- ration models for my daily concealed carry, tactical or training needs. A day at the range with a Fullsize SIG P250 easily translates into more profi- ciency with a Subcompact P250. The advantage of this is really appreciated when training spans long-time dura- tion and thousands of rounds fired. While a carry pistol’s reliability
must be beyond reproach, carry abil- ity is just as important considering the amount of time the weapon is holstered over the course of a day. I carried the SIG P250 in a variety of Galco leather holsters. Galco hol- sters utilized in this article were the Yaquii slide, Side Snap Scabbard, Stow-N-Go IWB and Concealable Belt holster. The Concealable Belt holster proved most comfortable with the full-size grip module. The Galco Concealable paddle holster remains secure on the belt and the SIG P250 is kept tight to the body. Its open-top design allows quick access. The Side Snap Scabbard features “snappable” loop design allowing user flexibility in putting on and taking off the holster

without having to “undress.” A fact of life for civilian carry is that there are places you can’t go with your fire- arm. The on/off ease of the Galco Sid Snap Scabbard holster is much ap- preciated when having to dismount your weapon into a lock box or other means of storage. The Galco Stow- N-Go IWB proved best for the Sub- compact SIG P250 configuration. Flexibility is the key to effective car- ry practices with Stow-N-Go IWB, Yaqui slide and Belt slides all a part
of a concealed carry practitioner’s repertoire. Galco magazine carriers and gun belts are not to be underes- timated in importance either.
It Shoots The SIG P250 tested was cham-
bered in 9mm. I used Black Hills Am- munition, Hornady, Speer, Winchester and Wolf Ammunition. The SIGP250 ergonomics and handling characteris- tics are quickly appreciated. The SIG P250 advantage of similar operating
