Dirty Pat? I hate to admit it, but back in the

days of the Dirty Harry movies, with Clint Eastwood, I was packing a 6.5" S&W Model 29, .44 Magnum in a shoulder holster, while working as a Private Investigator. Gee, wonder if that’s why I have a bad back to this day? Hmmm! I don’t care how you cut it, trying to conceal a revolver that big, is a lot of work. I don’t think I ever did learn how to completely con- ceal that big ol’ handgun. I’m not gonna go into all the dry,

boring specs on each of the revolv- ers I tested. I’m just gonna touch on the basics for this piece, you can look up the specs on each gun on their re- spective websites. The

with HiViz front sight — this one was a real charmer, to be sure. It did bother me just a bit, this baby only weighs in at 26 oz. We’re talk- ing one super lightweight .44 Mag- num handgun here. The one saving grace, at least as far as I was con- cerned, was the included second set of Hogue rubber grips. I removed the nicely configured wood grips and never looked back. I think the 2-tone fi nish on the

titanium 329PD is handsome; bead- blasted dull blue fi nish on the frame and barrel, and the cylinder is bead- blasted gray. The rest of the gun is Scandium — a super-strong, light- weight material that can stand up to a real beating. I’ve gotta admit, I got hooked on the 329PD, I shot it a lot, it was almost addicting for some rea- son. I fi red a good amount of Black Hills Ammunition 240-gr. JHP and 300-gr. JHP fodder through this gun. It really liked the 240-gr. JHP load – I couldn’t get the rear sight adjusted low enough for the 300-gr. JHP round to print to point-of-aim. I was only shooting about an inch and a half high with this heavy load at 25 yards, easy enough to adjust my aim for that little bit of a difference. The HiViz red fi ber optic front sight really stood out when taking aim with

The little (all things considered) Taurus 44 Tracker is a dandy trail gun if you fi nd yourself in bear country.
