Ricki Chavez Munoz reports on what’s happening in South America

Cheers, Ricki.
Bolivia set to approve Gaming Legislation
As we close this issue, Bolivia’s Lower Chamber should be debating the white paper Ley de Juegos de Lotería y Azar, or Gaming and Lottery Act, which has already been approved by the Economic Politic and Finance Planning Commission.
This legislation project has been proposed by the Ministry of Economy and is set to be the basis for the opening of traditional and online casinos to enable full gaming regulation in the South American country. The white paper, which was sponsored by six government legislators, would grant powers to the Executive to create the agency “Autoridad de Fiscalización y Control Social de Juegos”, in charge of licensing, permits, control, audit, penalize and supervise gaming companies in the country.
e could spend hours talking about SAGSE Buenos Aires 2010, but, alas, there is little time or space in this pages. For Spanish speakers, whatever was said in the preview of our sister title CI AMERICANO, was not
enough, because someone said in Argentina that “this was the best SAGSE of them all”. So, we also run a review of Latin America’s prime expo in this month’s edition, too.
We are not in favour of dwelling on the negative aspects of the industry, and rather than delve on infamous people from USA through ETESA in Colombia, and La Plata in Argentina, we look to the positive side of things, and are happy to report on Bolivia’s gaming law, which should permit the installation of full casinos, including online and betting sites. The fact is that the proposed gaming legislation in the Andean country is so comprehensive that is set to become the amplest in the globe, with opportunities to one and all. We are running a short report below.
And now, we’re literally flying off to Las Vegas for G2E,
where rumour has it that a new player will set up its own shop, just in the manner of TCSJH, last year at the Palms where you can also find the Playboy Casino. See you there!
