Recently, ABC has rapidly expanded its fleet to include a total of ten B747-400 freighters, and is experiencing “stable development and also some reasonable financial results” so far this year, with a number of new destinations added to its network in the last few months. Secondly, Gliznoursa pointed to the upgrading of the
Volga-Dnepr fleet to include the modern IL-76TD-90, the third aircraft of this type having been received in June this year, with another two expected to follow in 2011 and 2012. The third highlight, in his view, was the launch in 2006 of
Ruslan International – a joint venture heavy-lift air charter service provider set up with Antonov Airlines. Right from the start, Gliznoutsa said, the group has
reached these sorts of milestones by adhering to a strategy that sets it apart from other operators. “We have a long-term strategy approach. Right now, we
have goals and objectives already formulated for 2012 and 2015, for example. Every year we set new goals for the next five to seven years. “Of course, how to get to the target can change
when it is implemented,” he added, noting that current aims include the development of both the charter and scheduled arms of the group, as well as continuing diversification of the business.
