AeroLogic prepares for B777F expansion J
OERGEBERHART,managingdirectorof all-cargo carrier AeroLogic – a joint venture ofDHL and Lufthansa Cargo – confirms that the airline is to receive another two B777Fs by the end of this
year – taking its fleet to eight. “Thenewaircraftwillbeusedmainlyonour
Asianroutes, toenhancetheexistingnetwork. We will increase the frequency on these
routes,” Eberhart said, although the exact schedule has yet to be defined. One factor thatwill influence that decision
is thematter of obtaining Russian overflight rights.TheGermangovernment is intalkswith the Russian Transport Ministry to find a solution, he said. Currently, AeroLogic serves 12 destinations
with97weekly connections fromits twohubs at Leipzig and Frankfurt. From Monday to Friday, the carrier links Leipzig with Bahrain, Delhi, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Sharjah and Singapore forDHL. At weekends, it flies from Frankfurt for
Lufthansa Cargo, to Almaty, Chicago, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Sharjah and Tashkent. The carrier also provides a connection from Leipzig on the Sharjah -Hong Kong route.
