CONSULTANCY

Opportunities abound

C

hristie was always driven, but the path to achieve her career goals wasn’t always clear. What was clear, however, was that building, developing and maintaining relationships would be instrumental.

Christie’s exceptional performance, commitment and professionalism as a student in the Summer Internship Program (a partnership between ACE, HSBC and Deloitte) led to her securing employment in Deloitte’s human capital team as a consultant focusing on recruiting initiatives. Christie was selected as the Bermuda 2007 Rhodes Scholar and returned to study at the University of Oxford, where she earned two masters degrees: a Master of Studies in women’s studies and a Master of Science in comparative social policy. While completing her graduate studies, she also undertook an intensive summer management programme at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. During her studies, Christie kept in touch with her colleagues at Deloitte, and having made such an impression as an intern and a full-time employee, she was again offered employment following graduation. Rejoining Deloitte in 2009, Christie was instrumental in working on internal strategic consulting initiatives, developing client targeting and growth strategies, and assisting with client proposals and engagements.
