The SnowEx spreader will help with winter roads
Spreader is ready for action
Broadwood International has announced the arrival of the SnowEx Tow-Pro SP-7000 spreader in time for the winter season. This new spreader is mounted on an integrated trailer chassis and is powered by its own 12v supply, meaning that any vehicle with a ball hitch can connect to the Tow- Pro, switch on the spreader’s onboard power system, and get spreading.
“Previously the only option of a salt spreader that is non vehicle-
specific has been a ground-wheel- driven spreader,” says Roy Wolfenden, general manager at Broadwood. “With the new Tow- Pro we’ve opened up a whole new world of spreading options to con- tractors or end-users who want to be able to switch between vehicles and don’t want to fit all their vehi- cles with spreader control systems, or who want to use multiple vehi- cles with one spreader.”

Parcelroute Services has installed a IPS V606 vertical baler from Jarshire for processing up to 500kg of cardboard a day (see picture).
The V606 produces 1525mm x 760mm x 1220mm mill size bales that are the most convenient and sort-after size for trecycling companies to handle. Reliable and safe to use, the baler exceeds all EU and CE safety standards and incorporates information diagnostics and advanced hydraulics usually found on larger and more expensive models. Parcelroute owner, Stuart Rivett, is pleased with the equipment, which he says is easy to use and lives up to all expectations. “It was a very profes- sional installation, on time and with thorough training provided – and it
has enabled us to achieve our objective with a 90% reduc- tion of waste to landfill.”

Crowcon’s new LIBRA (lithium ion battery replacement assembly) bat- tery is now available for use with all existing and new-build Triple Plus+ and Triple Plus +IR gas detectors. LIBRA contains a microproces- sor and circuitry to mimic the pre- vious lead acid battery pack – this means users can replace on their lead acid battery pack with a LIBRA without needing to do any modifi- cations or change the charger.
LIBRA also provides power for 20-30 minutes after low battery warning, allowing users to com- plete tasks and replace the battery. Core to the development was the need to offer existing users a solu- tion compliant to existing operat- ing procedures. There is no impact on the requirement to see the min- imum operating voltage of 6.3V.

Hosokawa Micron’s Alpine Dura Line shred- der is a single shaft crusher/shredder that has applications in processing plastics, recycled and fibrous materials and other difficult to handle products (pictured). This range is available with drive powers from 45 to 250kW and the patented multi- edge cutting shaft in monoblock construc- tion has diameters from 400 to 800mm and lengths from 1,000 to 2,000mm.
The knife seats are milled into the shaft, providing the cutters with a high impact strength. Difficult to handle materials such as plastic film or fibres can be processed effectively and Dura Line machines come with a menu guided control system making it possible to pro- gramme variables such as cutting power and power consumption.

Skip Units has supplied Tyrebin with three custom-designed waste containers for the used tyre collec- tion service that it operates in accor- dance with Environment Agency guidelines for approved disposal. Rather than the conventional system of periodic collections by trucks, Tyrebin leaves the contain- ers at the premises of tyre distribu- tors. The customer can fill them at his own convenience and notify Tyrebin when the bin is ready for collection. The bin is then
