FLEET MANAGEMENT
Classrooms have interactive whiteboards and connection points for laptops
course with English-speaking delegates. In the future it will be possible for the company to use the centre at Duxford, rather than turning down a training request.
As mentioned, the centre has two main workshops, one capable of hous- ing even the largest equipment in the Volvo line-up. A smaller component workshop provides an opportunity for engineers to work with engines,
hydraulic systems and other compo- nent assemblies.
In the two classrooms, there are interactive white boards and connec- tion facilities for the attending engi- neers to plug in their laptop computers. Outside there is also a small test site for Volvo’s increasingly popular road-build- ing equipment, allowing engineers to familiarise themselves with this grow- ing range.
The centre will play a key role in this
year’s Volvo CE masters competition, which Volvo runs every second year to find the best team of two engineers and one parts specialist worldwide. The first round started in summer with teams at all eight customer support centres vying to progress to the national final – to be held in autumn at the new centre.
