What do you think will be the biggest selling game of the next few months? It’s hard to say – it’s going to be a tight one between Halo: Reachand Call of Duty: Black Ops. We’ve had a lot of people asking about both.

What games have been performing well in-store recently? Red Dead Redemptionis still selling well. The second we get one traded in by a customer it’s gone again within 24 hours. Mafia IIalso sold out here quite quickly when it was released last week. I’ve got a lot of friends who played the original Mafiagame on the PC, and I’m surprised by the amount of people who didn’t know much about it but bought it anyway. The game’s success came out of nowhere.
Can motion controllers Move and Kinect reinvigorate the retail market? I think Kinect looks absolutely stunning. Everyone knows it’s going to be fairly expensive, but using voice recognition and face recognition instead of a remote to watch DVDs is pretty cool. The machine is fairly revolutionary and
it has set the bar quite high. Move looks brilliant too, but Kinect has
advantages over it. Microsoft is throwing a lot more money into the marketing of its motion accessory.
What makes your store unique? We offer good part exchange prices but our customer service is second to none. We relate to customers and help deal with their game problems as much as possible.
What do you think about the VAT increase coming in 2011? I think it may hit us quite hard – it’s difficult enough for us to make profit from new games as it is. However we do make most profit from pre-owned sales so the rise won’t affect us in that regard.
