GET YOURSELF CONNECTED

Network with your peers and brainstorm with industry leaders as you catch up on all the industry news at The Business Travel Conference, October 25-26

THIS year’s The Business Travel Conference is set to be the most significant yet for business travel buyers. As travel budgets continue to feel the squeeze, corporate travel managers and bookers need all the help they can get – and this conference has the answers. Combining conference seminars with respected industry speakers and practical small group workshops, the event will give delegates a clear overview of the industry and practical help to put to use.

CONFERENCE SESSIONS

The six conference seminars will be led by respected industry speakers including Chris Reynolds of 3Sixty Sourcing, Tony McGetrick of BCD Travel, Margaret Birse of SERCO, Alison Smith of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Rachel Watson of Opteva and Simone Buckley of Bouda. They will tackle topics ranging from self-booking tools and ‘green’ travel to cutting costs and meetings management. The opening session will look at negotiations and how to manage supplier relationships, while the closing session will end on a high note with former MP and cabinet minister Michael Portillo taking to the podium. His attendance is being sponsored by Virgin Atlantic Airways which will also be giving away a pair of flights during this session.

HOW TO BOOK...

To register for TBTC simply visit www.thebusinesstravelconference.com. Alternatively, contact Neil Dargie on 07836 648863 or by email at: Neil.Dargie@bmipublishing.co.uk. Delegate places are only available to corporate bookers and arrangers of business travel and meetings.

WORKSHOPS

The six workshops have been designed to give delegates a chance to discuss current issues, share experiences and hammer out solutions to both industry-wide and company-specific queries. The workshops are smaller, round- table events with expert moderators assisting discussion and stimulating debate. Topics covered will include how to track travellers and keep them safe; how to effectively manage RFPs; managing rail spending; an update on corporate manslaughter law; managing data and how to chose the right TMC or HBA.

NETWORKING SESSIONS

One of the unique features of TBTC is its relatively small size. This allows productive networking and relationship building with key suppliers and will this year include a relaxed Early Arrivals drinks reception on the Sunday night and, on the Monday night, a seated dinner and party, kindly sponsored by Carlson Wagonlit Travel. This social event has become a highlight of the conference with high quality international food prepared by executive chef Kevin Levett, previously premier sous chef at Claridge's in Mayfair. CWT will also sponsor drinks and a disco so delegates can relax and unwind after a hard day's work at the conference. The Calling Card competition held in previous years will run again and always adds an element of fun to the networking sessions. This year there will be a chance to win a holiday to Brazil for those who get involved.

Each year TBTC includes a private exhibition of around 50 exhibitors. This year’s exhibitors include leading travel management companies, car hire, serviced apartments, hotels, rail operators, airlines, corporate cards, travel clinics, airports and technology companies. Attending the event gives you instant access to all the industry’s key players.
