NEDA CONFERENCE PREVIEW
Speaking out NEDA executive vice president, Robin B. Gray, Jr.,
explains how getting involved with the association means having a voice in the industry
Hundreds of companies involved in supplier authorized distribution are represented by the National Electronics Distributors Association (NEDA). These are companies who care about keeping up with industry trends and statistics and who know that speaking as one on important issues is good for the industry and for themselves.
NEDA is the industry trade association for authorized
distribution. Ourmission is to improve the business environment for all authorized distributors, regardless of size. Every association initiative is created to positively impact and improve the business climate for authorized distributors. Through our industry standards, education programs, research, advertising and every other program—NEDA impacts your business. Involvement in the associationmeans having a voice and influencing the goals and direction of those programs.
The association’s goal is to assist ourmembers in being better
competitors within the industry and helping themto be equipped to handle the challenges presented by competition fromnon- authorized sources.
NEDA’s biggest initiative in years is the industry advocacy
campaign. The campaign has several components; themost visible being the trade press advertising. The purpose of the advertising campaign is to build brand awareness—to increase customer awareness of the value of using supplier authorized distribution.
get face-to-face
Membership in NEDAmaximizes networking access to industry peers. Our sponsored events bring the leaders of the industry face-to-face. Participation in a NEDA Task Force or Roundtable enables collaboration on issues affecting all aspects of the industry. The groups givemembers a voice in the direction and growth of electronic distribution and an outstanding opportunity to network with peers.
NEDA’s conferences offer an in-depth look at the industry and
are geared not only toward education, but also to fostering relationships throughout the supply chain network. Each conference offers personal access to industry experts and ample time to discuss important issues. Our upcoming 2010 Executive Conference October 17 to 19 features an impressive roster of speakers. NEDA is also a co-sponsor of the annual Electronic
Distribution Show (EDS) in Las Vegas with ECA and ERA.
Industry research
is another area where NEDA adds value, and we regularly provide our members with the latest industry findings. We identify industry trends then provide valuable information and data specific to electronic distribution. We produce a number of exclusive studies packed full of industry statistics that you cannot get elsewhere. Our members work together through NEDA to develop industry guidelines and standards.
NEDA executive vice president, Robin B. Gray, Jr.

Together NEDA members and staff help shape the future of electronic distribution. We work toward increasing the overall market share and total industry sales made through authorized distribution. We serve as an advocate on government, industry or trade issues affecting authorized distribution. We strive toward improving relationships between distributors and their manufacturer-suppliers.
The association is interested in what you are thinking. We
welcome new members and encourage existing members to become involved and participate. Through involvement, you influence the direction of the association, its officers, board members and the staff that serve you, and establish programs that help your business. Let us hear from you!
