membership About GGIA
We’ve been asked before, “Why should I join GGIA, and what exactly do you guys do?”. Joe Napoli, owner of Athens Wholesale Nursery, sat down a while back and made the case for why he values his membership as stated: “Have you ever considered what your membership fee in GGIA yields? Let me count the ways! Several years ago, GGIA was largely responsible for lobbying to remove the ad valorem tax for nurseries. During the last year the tax was in effect, I paid $562. At the Wintergreen tradeshow , my membership saves me $112.50 for 2 booths. I saved $800 by changing my insurance to the GGIA endorsed plan. My membership saved me $1475 last year. Don’t you wish all investments offered this return?”
These tangible results make a direct impact on your bottom line but your membership in GGIA will yield so much more. As our network of chapters expand across the state, there are more chances than ever for net- working, education and fellowship with fellow industry members in your area. Our WINTERschool on the Road series brings timely seminars to your backyard, and our expanded staff means your interests are being repre- sented at the State Capitol on a daily basis. The WINTERgreen trade show and conference continue to grow, bringing together the best vendors, speakers and national experts offering value for your time and money. No other state association represents such a wide mix of Green Industry sectors. If you’re in the business, one of our 6 divisions is working for you. If you’re still asking yourself if you can afford to join, perhaps try ask yourself this question: Can you really afford not to?
