Voyages of Discovery ‘breaks the code’

The exciting new VOYAGES OF DISCOVERY Summer 2011 brochure is a real delight, with evocative imagery, itinerary maps and an imaginative ‘Highlights of the Voyage’ feature.

On her most enticing summer programme to date, 2011 also sees Discovery cruising to some top destinations in the Mediterranean and Baltic, along with destinations as far fl ung as Iceland, the White Sea and Archangel and the North Cape. The summer itineraries are sure to appeal to anyone seeking adventure: ‘Voyage to the White Sea and

Archangel’ follows in the wake of World War II Arctic convoys to northern Russia, with natural scientists and historians, including Mark Baldwin from Bletchley Park, who will lecture about Second World War code breakers and demonstrate an original 1940s Enigma machine. ‘In Search of the Holy Lands’ provides a new approach to the Middle East, exploring many less-well travelled but historically rich cultures, with visits to Jerusalem and the Sea of Galilee on Discovery’s fi rst visit to the region for four years.

Many of the summer 2011 cruises will sail from Portsmouth, for the fi rst time, as well as Harwich, with fast, easy access from London. More info: visit www. voyagesofdiscovery.co.uk/ summer2011 or call 0844 822 0820.

Their unique ship Orion will visit

Australia’s wildlife sanctuary at Macquarie

Island, plus Campbell, Stewart, Snares and Auckland islands, as well as spending time exploring New Zealand’s beautiful Fjordlands, including Milford Sound with the world’s tallest sea cliffs.
