Johnny Cash fetish. RS: And who were born between the years 1978 and 1982.

CR: I can get an ad out that they’re going to see every time they open that thing, and they open it every day.

RS: It has huge potential for fundraising as well as voter targeting in that sense. So, I think the wait staff here are about to kick us out. I think to sum- marise, social media is changing politics in pro- found ways but doesn’t really change the basics.

MS: I’d say that Abraham Lincoln had it right 160 years ago.

RS: He was an early adopter of Facebook, I guess.

MS: The Abraham Lincoln four-step: create the list, identify the list, persuade the persuadables and bring out your supporters to vote. What’s changed in 160 years? Nothing.

RS: Some tactics and some tools. CR: As a closing note I would add that it’s irre- sponsible for anyone involved in politics or public affairs right now not to be using these platforms themselves. It doesn’t mean you have to be post- ing what you’re eating for lunch or what you’re doing every day, but you better have an account and understand how these things work because it’s moving very fast and the adoption rate includes all ages and classes, far faster than anyone predicted. This stuff is pushing further and deeper into soci- ety than anyone is estimating.

RS: And, on that note, that’s it for another conver- sation at the Senator.
