Montabert has launched a new Blue Line range of hydraulic breakers for applications in construction,


quarrying, road building, utilities and trenching. The first model in the Blue Line range is the 1.7 tonnes XL1700 breaker providing a blow energy of 3400 J, a frequency of 600 blows/min and a tool diameter of 137 mm. The XL1700 can be used with excavators providing a minimum to maximum flow range of 100 to 150 l/min, and an operating pressure of 180 bar.

Salt could kill off thousands of trees


Tree experts have warned that council workers may have killed thousands of street trees by using salt to de-ice roads and pavements during the coldest winter for 31 years.


The


council's annual tree care campaign said salt damage will have killed newly-planted roadside trees and hedges.
