Portfolio extended
A global milestone for Plantex
GrassProtecta allows year round parking Over 150 million square
Paviom Ltd has extended its outdoor lighting portfolio by announcing the launch of Aptus and Multus.
The new
illuminated, sculptural bollards have been designed by international award-winning product designer,
Terrence
Woodgate, for the new Bollard and Wall Light range. Aptus is available in a range
of different finishes, the Cor- Ten steel version has the ability to change its appearance as it weathers. On a dry, sunny day, it is brightly oxidized, almost orange but on a wet day the lamp becomes dark and mellow. Configurations include single or double width versions with down and up lighting options. The natural light finish and lighting configurations make Aptus suitable for a variety of different landscape applications. Multus, is an ellipsoidal
bollard manufactured from aluminum. Seamlessly rotating on an axis of 45 degrees to the body, the luminaire head makes this unique fitting suitable for many applications not usually associated with an illuminated bollard. The lamp head can be rotated in increments of 10 degrees and locked in place up to the vertical at installation.

metres of DuPont™ Plantex® landscape fabric have now been laid worldwide, an impressive global milestone which means it has eradicated around 120 billion weeds,
distributor TDP Ltd. Rob Barlow,
according to UK managing
director of TDP commented, “Its flexibility allows it to be used as a non-chemical barrier for weeds in soft landscape schemes, but it also has the tensile strength to be used in hard landscaping applications such as paths and patios. So instead of requiring two products to cover these applications, Plantex’s flexibility is a real benefit because it means
East Beach car park in Shoeburyness, Essex, offers year- round parking for visitors to the beach itself and the local amenities of Shoeburyness. The grassed overflow car park historically suffered with the problem of vehicles wearing away the grass and creating ruts, with the area becoming uneven, unsightly and generally muddy and unpleasant in both wet and dry conditions. The local Council required
remedial action that would eliminate the existing problems
and maintain a natural grassed finish, deemed as sympathetic to the natural coastal surroundings, visitors and local residence. Boddingtons new GrassProtecta® mesh was specified, as it met all the remedial requirements and offered additional benefits such as increased traction and improved slip resistance by up to 97%, compared to standard straight oriented mesh types.

Robust paving for heavy plant application
Brett Landscaping has
introduced Zeta Lock, a 16 sided machine lay block paving unit specifically designed for use in areas which need to tolerate heavy traffic loads, such as airports and ports. Zeta Lock offers a more durable solution in comparison to rectangular blocks as the elastic modulus of the 16 sided interlocking shaped block is significantly greater than the equivalent rectangular units. This serves to generate a stronger pavement surface interlock - a key benefit which translates into increased levels of structural integrity.
Brett Landscaping is the only
UK manufacturer to supply such blocks for machine laying. Zeta Lock is available in a standard thickness of 80mm with a plan size of 205mm x 102.5mm. Machine laying enables clusters of 48 blocks to be installed,
each cluster
covering 1300mm x 940mm to allow for design and installation flexibility. Half and closure blocks are also available to speed up installation, removing the need for onsite cutting and reducing waste.
