VPAR brings finalists up to speed

nternational Pairs has once again teamed up with innovative live golf scoring company VPAR.

VPAR’s cutting-edge technology will record every shot played at the UK Final at De Vere’s Wychwood Park, Cheshire, in September and the International Pairs World Final, which is being held at The Carrick on Loch Lomond a month later. Using a hand-held device, each player will score their round and VPAR’s technology will then immediately calculate their net score and update all live leaderboards, leaving the golfer in no doubt about where they stand in the competition and what they need to do to win. The technology was used for the first time by International Pairs at last year’s

world final at Carnoustie and managing director Ross Honey believes the continued presence of VPAR will add an extra dimension to the finals. Honey said: “International Pairs prides itself on creating a real professional

tournament atmosphere for amateurs and we are very excited at having VPAR on board for 2010. “The VPAR scoring system means that, whether out on the course or in the clubhouse, the leaderboards will be updated instantly which increases the realism, excitement and pressure for everyone taking part. VPAR also enables spectators from all over the world to follow the players’ progress live online.” Jason Stoop, VPAR managing director, said: “We are proud to be supporting International Pairs for a second year running. It’s a fantastic tournament and extremely competitive so is a great fit for VPAR.”
