OmniTicket introduces Best Overview Solution

OMNITICKET Network introduced the company’s next generation of software, the Best Overview Solution (BOS) at the IAAPA Expo in Las Vegas. The system is an unique onsite technology

for managing all types of venues, in a multi-tier environment with a built-in infrastructure for offering worldwide ticket distribution in real time. “Our clients are looking for a way to increase the

reach of their B2C and B2B distribution while at the same time they have to cut costs,” noted Mickey Carlson, general manager of OmniTicket Network USA. “Our solutions effectively help our clients successfully reach those two critical objectives.” In April 2009, OmniTicket became part of the

Italian Best Union Group, a worldwide leader in the supply of ticketing technology and event services, and team members from both OmniTicket and Best Union were on hand at IAAPA to demonstrate the group’s latest innovations in ticket sales, services and distribution, as well as Best Union’s comprehensive staffing services for all aspects relating to communication, promotion and sponsorship of events, including reception, security and marketing services. “We have the expertise to provide these services

effectively, which allows our clients to dedicate their attention to their core activities,” commented Best Union’s Chairman and CEO Luca Montebugnoli. In addition to its various software options,

OmniTicket also had a range of hardware on display at IAAPA, including turnstiles, ticket vending machines, printers, handheld access control devices, biometric devices and a range of standard hardware that integrates seamlessly with the Best Overview Solution. It was also announced at the show that Best Union

has signed a three year agreement with Rimini Fiera S.p.A. to supply ticketing, hospitality, access control and security services during all the exhibitions to be held at Rimini’s exhibition centre, while the stadium market is another sector in which Best Union is heavily involved and which, through the OmniTicket link, is now spreading further for the group.

Worldwide projects for Moser’s Rides

THE Italian ride manufacturer Moser’s Rides is involved in a number of different projects at the present time with various rides being built and installed around the world. Among these is a version of one of the company’s

latest attractions, the Jungle Lift, to a park in Indonesia. Based on Moser’s tower rides, the Jungle Lift features a single gondola (seating capacities are variable), at each end of which are two cables. The gondola is lifted by the cables to the top of the adjacent towers in an oscillating movement and then dropped back down with sudden drops, until it reaches ground level. The ride was due to be operational by the end of 2009, while a Surfing Whale attraction has also been delivered to the same customer (client details were not available at the time of writing). Among other projects, a T-Rex ride has been

delivered to Widen Park in Budapest, Hungary, along with a Sidewinder to Plopsaland in Belgium, while commenting on business generally, Stefano Moser noted that overall business remained healthy, although, with the exception of several projects for Palace Entertainment, the US market had been a little slower in 2009

the weather has been quite bad in the US this year. Indoor waterparks have been a good market of late.” Snyder note that Zebec continues to do a lot of

work with corporate chains, including the Aqualand chain, Palace Entertainment and Park Management, while as far as individual projects are concerned, one of the largest, more recent ones has been with the Iceland waterpark in Dubai, to which the company has supplied a range of single and double person tubes, Sidewinder ride tubes, uphill tubes, round family rafts, head first foam mats, standard and heavy weight tubes, many of which incorporated the venue’s logos and snowflake artwork. Indeed the Middle East has proved a very strong

market for Zebec of late, with orders going to Wild Wadi in Dubai, Wahoo! Bahrain and Dreamland in the UAE, along with 10,000 tubes to the Aquaventure waterpark at the Atlantis Palm Hotel in Dubai. “We are very happy with the overseas market,”

noted Snyder.

the world, to around 70 countries, with 65 to 70 per cent of production being exported. “The international market is better at the

moment for new parks,” commented the company’s Scott Snyder, “while new construction in the US is very slow. However, we haven’t seen much of a downturn due to the economic situation, although

AMONG the more recent products to be unveiled by Canadian company Whitewater West Industries is the AquaTune, seen here being demonstrated by Whitewater’s marketing manager Julie Zakus at the IAAPA Expo. Different notes are achieved by covering the water coming out of the holes, with the basic model having 12 notes set up to represent the musical scale. The sounds can be adjusted to mimic a range of instruments and the unit can be used as a freestanding feature or as an addition to any AquaPlay structure. It is available as stainless steel curved pipe or in a fibreglass tadpole shape.
