Rules on Course Seminars
ON-COURSE RULES SEMINARS will take golfers out
on the course for a half day of situational-based rules education. The class teaches the rules through a variety of stations and situations that translate directly into a better understanding and proper application on the course. Water hazards, bunkers, obstructions, putting green
. . .these interactive seminars move beyond the classroom to the golf course providing hands-on instruction. The seminars begin at 7:30 a.m. and wrap up after lunch. The $40 cost (NCGA members $30) includes continental breakfast, lunch and a 2010-2011 Rules of Golf Book. Registration is available via NCGA.org under the rules drop-down menu. Member Outings
May has some wonderful choices for golfers looking
for NCGA MEMBERS-ONLY OUTINGS. Silver Creek Valley in San Jose hosts members May 10 and two events in Southern California were created with the perfect golf trip in mind. Big Horn GC in Palm Desert throws its doors open to NCGA and SCGA members May 24
while a two-day package is offered at Monarch Dunes in Nipomo. Two rounds, cart and Saturday dinner, along with a host of other amenities are available for $215 (with an optional third offered at $30). With several lodging options nearby, the Memorial Day weekend trip allows members a quick getaway at a terrific price. Porter’s at Poppy Hills
PORTER’S GRILL, Poppy Hills’ full-service restaurant,
unveiled an expanded menu with the arrival of spring. The skirt steak sandwich, sausage sandwich, barbeque chicken and skirt steak salads enhance an already diverse menu ideal for breakfast, lunch or snack. While menu prices are already
the lowest in the Del Monte Forest, NCGA members take it further via
the 10% discount enjoyed in the restaurant. Next time you are on the Monterey Peninsula, stop by Porter’s for lunch. NCGA membership benefits don’t end at the 18th hole.
