There are frequent calls that the international advertising community does not make enough provision for training its people and nurturing talent. M&M’s Professional Development strand aims to cater to some of the basic training needs, building on its annual training course IMM, with more frequent webinars and Briefings and more regular access to mentors.
Online, a back to basics approach provides various ‘How To’ Guides, offering summary information on topics ranging from buying TV to securing ROI, to help people understand the basic rules and the latest debates surrounding them, and a Glossary of terms cuts through the marketing jargon of the day. Jobs and courses listings will also be available.
In print, a regular feature ‘My Life in Advertising’ interviews an industry legend – the launch issue features ex-Unilever media chief Alan Rutherford – to elicit their advice, and a window into the best and worst decisions they have ever made. An ‘Ask the Experts’ column passes readers’ problems on to legal and procurement specialists, while revamped ‘Converging Technologies’ pages offer insight into the latest technology developments that will affect the business.
