Starting pay $12-$20 per hr
The need for pharmacy technicians is expected to grow 21-35 percent through 2012 according
to the U.S. Department of Labor. The pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist with mixing
and packaging prescriptions, maintaining client records, referring clients to the pharmacist for
counseling assistance, inventory control and purchasing, collecting payments, and coordinating
billing. The course combines 182 hours of classroom instruction with a 120 hour pharmacy
externship. The course fee is $2695 which includes books, consumable supplies,
externship and course completion certificate. High school diploma required to
enroll in this program.
