Marc Ross remembers the quizzical expressions that
followed after he told people that his father designed and
manufactured acrylic furniture. These puzzled responses
caused him to discredit his father’s profession and disil-
lusioned his ideas about a career in design. Even with a
burgeoning talent for sculpture he could never envision
himself as an artist, designer or creative type of any sort.
However, Marc could not escape his genetic inclination to
design and he credits the decision to move from a tradi-
tional university to the Corcoran College of Art + Design
as one of the best decisions of his life. This pivotal move
