In 2009, more than 80 students presented at Eastern’s Student Research
and Exhibition Conference. Eastern students from 10 different majors
offered poster and oral presentations showcasing the results of their
field work, case studies, independent research and original creative
writing and visual arts projects.

Eastern’s professors are experts in their fields — studying folk tales,
Alzheimer’s disease, business ethics and how to repair war-torn
nations, to mention only a few. They’ve published poetry, produced
award-winning documentaries, written books and authored articles.
An Eastern art professor designed the Connecticut quarter as part of
the U.S. Mint series; several others have received Fulbright Scholar
appointments or state and national awards.

Want to study something unique? Design your own major through
Eastern’s Individualized Major option. Students have designed majors
such as Digital Multimedia, Psychology and Business Administration,
Law and Society, Philosophical Methodology, Multimedia
