Will Douglas(19) has just started a photography
course at Nottingham Trent University
student under the spotlight
Litebook: So why photography?
WD: My dad has always been passionate about
photography and lent me his Canon T90 film SLR
when I was 13. I loved the fact that I could be
selective with surroundings when I used the
viewfinder. From that point I developed a real interest
in portraiture – both in the studio and photographing
people in a natural environment.
LB: Which photo-disciplines really engage you?
WD: I never thought fashion photography was for me
– until I worked on my Foundation Degree. Some of
those project shoots led me to completely change my
view. I have assisted fashion photographers and taken
some photos at Spitalfields Alternative Fashion Week,
so now I really enjoy working in this area. Having said
that, I enjoy all types of photography and I like to
experiment with different media.
LB: Tell us about your studies.
WD: I have just finished A-Levels and a Foundation
Degree course and I am starting at Nottingham Trent
University this autumn, studying photography.

nothing less than 100% ef_fort’
