But the 34 year old’s first break as a
photographer came at the 2000
Skiing World Championships in St.
Anton when he met a young
Australian journalist named Ruby.
Ruby was writing a story on the
Australian ski-team and Patrik landed
the job as the feature photographer.

This year he was shooting at the
Interlaken, Switzerland-based Nissan
Outdoor Games event– the top
competition of its kind in the world,
where for one week, the world’s most
accomplished kayakers, mountain-
bikers, climbers, paragliders and
base jumpers combine with
filmmakers and stills photographers
to share an extreme sports adventure
in the mountains.
Patrik’s brief was to capture a set of
still images ‘that create the most
engaging interpretation of adventure
sports in the outdoor environment’.
