This shot was taken as part of a series of
images that were commissioned for a
French magazine called Dirrty Glam. For
this particular shot, I wanted to create an
image with a slight edge to it, something
that wasn’t too clean and with some depth
to it. This shot was always going to be a
simple two head set-up, as I didn’t want
to over complicate the lighting. I started
with a white background and then placed
a Gemini 500 with a Bowens Softbox
80x100cm, to the left of the model as my
main light. I took some meter readings and
set the main light to f16; this was going to
give me a nice clean look but also gave a
slight mood at the same time. You’ll notice
the nice fall off / slight shadow to the right
hand side of the model which lifts the
picture a little.
