I love this property for a multigenerational family vacation. The one- and two-bedroom villas can accommodate up to eight adults in up to 1,140 square feet of space. The décor is elegant, modern and has no hints of shabbiness about it. Villas all have furnished balconies,


and all have at least some ocean views. Rooms also have floor-to-ceiling glass windows. This Westin is perched on one of the best stretches of sand in Cancun’s hotel zone. Another huge selling point


— since it is not an all-inclusive resort — are the full kitchens in all but its studio units, making it easy to dine in as often as you’d like. If you prefer to eat out,


Oceano serves up an excellent buffet at breakfast and a more sophisticated dinner menu with Mexican specialties and


international classics, including plenty of grilled choices. Viento Bar & Grill is open


for lunch or an early dinner and serves up casual fare. It is adjacent to the huge, free-form infinity pool and has a swim-up bar. Duna Sports Bar serves pub grub and plays all the big games. Other resort amenities include a kids club, a daily schedule of free activities, a spa with a full range of treatments, and a state-of-the- art fitness center.
