Cowbridge Farmers’ Market

Arthur John & Co car park, North Road, Cowbridge, every Saturday Cowbridge, a quaint Vale Of Glamorgan market town, boasts a high street stuffed with tempting independent boutiques. All products sold, they vouch, have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders, who’ll be more than happy to talk about the produce: meeting and talking to farmers and food artisans is a great opportunity to learn more about how and where food is produced.

Machynlleth Market

Machynlleth High Street, every Wednesday Always with a friendly, community feel, the weekly Wednesday market and biannual fair date back to a Royal Charter issued in 1291… and are still hugely popular. Just beneath this Powys town’s Victorian clock tower, you can find stalls selling organic fruit, speciality cheeses and baked goods. There is also a local butchers, greengrocers and vegetarian/wholefoods store. Get there before lunchtime, mind – the car parks tend to fill up early.
