Healthcare event to celebrate NHS milestone


ON 10 and 11 October, the Healthcare Estates event will take place, covering the past of the NHS and the future of healthcare in terms of technology and innovation. This event will also celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM) alongside the 70th anniversary of the NHS,


with


technology, innovation and streamlining of both processes and working methodology aiming to ‘save money, increase efficiency and enhance and improve the patient experience and patient care’. With an opening talk from outgoing


IHEEM president Pete Sellars, the conference will see plenary


sessions and keynote


presentations from NHS representatives, while a panel discussion will feature key individuals from the sector. Three parallel streams will make up the two days, split into strategy and leadership, engineering and facilities management, and planning, design and construction. Other themes include technology, compliance, regeneration and planning, design for clinical service and safety, and the built environment.


THE COMPANY has hired a UK export sales engineer and a technical sales consultant in India. In the UK, Josh Risk has joined the


company as export sales engineer, which will see him work on Patol’s full range of products,


from its Firesense linear heat


detection cable and infrared conveyer heat sensors through to its Securiton aspirating smoke detection systems. He has ‘extensive experience’ in customer services, and will be based in Reading. Mr Risk commented: ‘I am enjoying

DAME JUDITH Hackitt will discuss her review of building regulations and fire safety at the IOSH 2018 conference in Birmingham, from 17 to 18 September.
