If sci-fi is more interesting to you than history,
Woodbridge does not disappoint either. This is Britain’s Roswell. In the 1980s US Air Force staff reported seeing -
cue Twilight Zone soundtrack - the mysterious lights of a UFO in nearby Rendlesham Forest and the area is still a hotbed for conspiracy theorists and, more recently, fans of Stranger Things. If shopping is your favourite pastime on a
minibreak, Woodbridge is choc-a-block with independent stores lining the Thoroughfare, Quay Street and Market Square. These cover every type of item from DIY and craft supplies to wool shops, outdoor clothing, boutiques, deli cook shops, tailors, and even a violin shop. Frequent markets are also held on the Market Hill
in the shadow of the beautiful Shire Hall and St Mary’s Church. Seasonal food markets, vintage markets, craft markets and many more supplement the local shopping scene throughout the year and give the local producers an opportunity to meet customers and show off their wares. Sailing and boating are also an integral part of the

town with many family run boatyards and moorings at the heart of the community. Both beginners and experts can get on the water with some of the oldest cruising clubs calling Woodbridge home. For those that prefer to be on dry land the boating lake is great fun for model boat enthusiasts and spectators alike. Visitors to Woodbridge have an abundant
selection of accommodation to choose from; cosy cottages offer a tranquil countryside base, while hotels with spas guarantee a luxuriously relaxing atmosphere and pubs and boutique hotels ooze comfort and convenience. Woodbridge is the ideal base for exploring the
wider Suffolk Coast. Traditional seaside towns like Southwold and Aldeburgh are only a short drive away, as is the world-renowned Snape Maltings concert hall. Woodbridge is easy to access by both train and
car; travellers from London can catch the frequent connection from Ipswich, while main roads connect Suffolk to the surrounding counties.
