CELEBRATE THE BIG SAUSAGE WEEK


IN the run-up to the UK and Ireland’s premier sausage competition Champion of Champions 2017 (Monday 6 November), Meat Trades


Journal is celebrating Te Big Sausage Week (31 Oct – 6 Nov 2017). Te week-long event will champion all things great


about sausages, encouraging retailers to submit recipes, flavour ideas and marketing tips to help get the public excited about sausage. Over the course of the week, we will be promoting all forms


of sausages from around the UK and Ireland, culminating in Champion of Champions 2017. Rod Addy, editor of Meat


Trades Journal, said: “With over 85% of British homes buying sausages and 3.5


million meals containing sausage meat eaten every day, the sausage is a staple of our diet and should be celebrated. We want to give our sausages the respect they deserve by championing them during Te Big Sausage Week! I urge all butchers and supermarkets to get involved with Te Big Sausage Week and get customers to fall in love with sausage.” Tis year’s Champion
