A leading Llantrisant-based housebuilder has continued its growth by bringing in a new engineering assistant and architectural technician. Persimmon Homes East Wales is thriving with new houses being built in Cardiff, Barry and Hay-on-Wye and exciting new projects lined up for the second half of the year. The business has recently added another two new faces to its office-based team. The new recruits are football-mad 25-year-old Warren Hudson as engineering assistant and travel-loving 27-year- old Rebecca Jones as architectural technician. Warren, from Port Talbot, graduated from the University of South Wales in 2014 with a Project Management in Construction degree. He has been working within motor insurance since leaving uni but is now delighted to have landed a role within his chosen sector. His key roles include co-ordinating services, managing and distributing structural and civil engineering information and producing health and safety literature. Warren, who plays for Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Welsh Football League and has also represented his country at Futsal, said: “I am thrilled to have secured my first employment within the housing development industry. “This is the perfect learning ground for me. It’s a fast moving industry and Persimmon is a great company to be with.” Rebecca, from Dinas Powys, is an Interior Design graduate having studied at the University of Glamorgan until 2011. She has worked at a number of design practices and has experience in hospitality design, education and workplace design. Rebecca’s roles include producing drawings for planning applications and for use in marketing materials. “I have always enjoyed the technical side of my roles and I’m detailed-orientated,” said Rebecca. “After a number of years with my previous employer I wanted to expand my knowledge and experience. “I’m really enjoying my time at Persimmon so far. It’s a great team.”

Martin Smith, managing director at Persimmon Homes East Wales, said: “As a business we have performed exceptionally well over the last few years. There is a huge demand for good quality housing in South Wales and we are extremely busy meeting that need. “Our success has allowed us to expand our team in all areas and to create jobs. We’re delighted to welcome Warren and Rebecca to the team and wish them well on their Persimmon journey.”

Five homes at this new urban village just ten minutes from central Cardiff were snapped up over the launch with an additional four reservations on homes not yet released for sale, as homebuyers flocked to admire the stylish interiors of the stunning two-bedroom show property. VIPs from the partners behind the development, which is bringing 800 new homes to the former Arjo Wiggins paper mill site, also joined forces at a pre-launch event to celebrate the opening of the brand-new marketing suite. Te Mill will feature 358 homes for open market sale by Lovell and 442 homes for rent which will be managed by Cadwyn Housing Association for the Tirion Group. Te scheme is going ahead with the support of the Welsh Government and financial backing from the Principality Building Society, and is being developed by the Tirion Group in partnership with Lovell. “Te Mill continues to attract a remarkable response from homeseekers who love the riverside location, so close to the city centre, and are even more impressed when they see the incredible style and build quality on display in our stunning show apartment,” says Lovell regional sales director Julie Bowen. “We had some fantastic feedback from visitors amazed by the apartment’s cutting- edge interiors.
