Sword & Trowel 2018: Issue 1

Thank you for sharing your Christ- mas Day benevolent offering. This is a great help to our compassionate ministry and to our child-feeding min- istry. We extend compassionate care not only to our own church people but also to some poor people in our neigh- bourhood. Most of the expenditure is on hospitalisation and medication and, as previously, we set aside a certain amount for Christmas gifts for the members in Calajo-an and at Palao. We thank you for all your prayers and fi nancial support and we continue to remember you too in our prayers. Over the past year we have expe- rienced periods of illness and several close relatives have had serious ill- nesses and problems and some others have died. A stranger has fraudulently laid claim to the land where our school is built, claiming to be an heir of a previous owner. We had four hearings at the lower court and one at a higher court followed by a mediation meeting, all to no avail, so we are referred back to court again. All the allegations are fraudulent and we pray that this case will be dismissed as soon as possible. It is very costly in time, emotions and energy but we have learned to trust the

Lord and commit everything to him. Please remember this in your prayers. Pastor Bassanio Enrile studied at the

LRBS from 1993-95 and is supported by the Tabernacle’s Overseas Ministry Fund. (See panel below for details.)

OVERSEAS MINISTRY FUND

Many of our readers have helped us support 20 overseas pastors, most of whom are the only teachers of the doctrines of grace in their region, and all of whom are fervent evangelists. Many also dispense compassionate aid such as the feeding of hungry children. The need for basic buildings and other help grows. Readers moved to help may send gifts to: The Treasurer, Metropolitan Tabernacle, Elephant & Castle, London SE1 6SD. Please make cheques payable to ‘Metropolitan Tabernacle’, marked ‘Overseas Ministry Fund’ on the reverse.

Gift Aid forms will be sent on request. No deductions are made for administration or ‘home expenses’, the fund being entirely deployed overseas. Sunday School Outreach in the Philippines page 29 
