Sword & Trowel 2018: Issue 1
The Deaf Fellowship after the baptismal service in March. Ten people were baptised including a deaf sister.
forum group using Farsi sign language. This has participants mainly from Iran, Germany, Australia and the UK. Tabernacle sermons are featured, translated into Farsi sign language. Many deaf Muslim peo- ple are confused about their religion and seek answers about God and life. Our brother answers questions from seekers, encour- ages deaf Christians and teaches the Word. The anonymity of the group is useful because people are afraid even of parents and husbands, so it is hard for them to enquire openly. Also, those who become believers do not fi nd it easy to witness in their community through fear of retribu- tion. In Iran the internet is monitored
by the authorities so the forum moves between different apps to remain un- noticed. The Lord has blessed with the conversion of two men from Australia, who have posted their tes- timonies on the forum in Farsi sign language. Forum members have been ask-
ing how to pray, and so a regular hour-long online prayer meeting has begun, which also provides an exam- ple for prayer.
