Sword & Trowel 2017: Issue 1
SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATION T
HE simultaneous interpretation ministry at the Tabernacle now operates in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese (Mandarin), Arabic and Farsi. Records of the number of users so far this year have peaked at over 80 at a Sunday service, including a recent infl ux of Iranian nationals. It has been necessary once again to increase the number of radio headsets to keep up with demand. They function in all parts of the T abernacle. The system is in use for both Sunday services, and the mid-week
Bible studies. Translations are re- corded by the system for ongoing usefulness on the Tabernacle web- site – though interpreters often prefer to re-record their transla- tions from transcriptions during the following week before they are uploaded.
Metropolitan Tabernacle Sunday Services 11.00am (teaching service)
