Fourteen others are preparing to be received into membership at the end of the year. On the following Sunday we held our inaugural service as Ig- reja Batista Reformada da Palavra, with the presence of a good number of visitors. On 23rd

July we held our fi rst

infant presentation after the morn- ing service. It was an encouraging occasion for the church, as well as a time of solemn promises on the part of the parents to care for their chil- dren’s souls and for the church to be a spiritual example and help to the children.

During July we held three Satur-

days of door-to-door evangelism – completing six Saturdays of 12 per year. An average of 14 people went out in pairs for two hours of contact

work. Many houses were visited, with a good number of conversations and giving out of evangelistic literature and CDs. Contact work is very encouraging to our congregation, cultivating cour- age and compassion for the lost and engendering an evangelistic mindset. Every Sunday afternoon about 16 people go out in pairs to bus stops and the nearby tube station for an hour of contact work. Very many conversations take place and we have had three visitors from this work to the evangelistic service in recent months. On 19th

August we held a meeting Church Now Constituted page 35
