Sword & Trowel 2017: Issue 1
have been able to progress with the building as quickly as approvals, utili- ties, labour and some very adverse weather have permitted. The rate of progress with the building has now, however, overtaken that of the receipt of gifts so that funding has become the limiting factor to progress. With a recent substantial gift we were able to put the concrete roof deck in place in one go, giving us a basic skeleton building within which we
can continue to work regardless of the weather. We intend to move to the site once the ground fl oor is com- pleted and we will extend to a fi rst fl oor and permanent roof structure in due course according to need and as we are able to do so. Our present building in Anse-la-
Raye accommodates about 55-60 people and we should be able to fi t about 100 in the ground fl oor of the new building. We will also have an entrance lobby, kitchen, toilets, nurs- ery, offi ce and storage room. We will hold Sunday School in the sanctuary and the entrance. When we complete the fi rst fl oor we will be able to fi t in about 150 or more. In addition, we will have other rooms, particularly for Sunday School. Please pray for our continued pro-
gress. It is our aim to be in the new building in the fi rst quarter of 2018 and we are looking forward prayer- fully to the larger opportunities for ministry which this will provide, in addition to continuing to run a Sun- day School in Anse-la-Raye.
Pastor Samuel studied at the LRBS from 1992-94 and is supported by the Tabernacle’s Overseas Ministry Fund. See page 5 for details.
