Murphy opts for EasyCabins
Murphy Plant, the plant hire activity within the contractor J. Murphy & Sons, has bought 30 mobile welfare units from AJC Trailers. The EasyCabin EcoSmart12 Air units provide canteen facilities for
up to six people, with a separate toilet, drying room and a low-energy diesel heater. They also have LED lights fitted with passive infrared sensors and a dedicated heating system designed to provide hot water for up four hours each day without having to start the built-in generator. The units have been finished in Murphy’s corporate green livery.
CPA Conference details announced

Charitable Chepstow
Chepstow Construction Equipment, the Kubota dealer for South Wales and the south west of England, reports that a fund-raising initiative it is running has raised £3,824 for several local charities including Devon Air Ambulance, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital, the Forest Pulse autism charity, the Julian Trust Night Shelter, Child Watch Phuket and the Lighthouse Club. George Roberts NW wins Gold
George Roberts NW Ltd, a Liverpool-based supplier of scaffolding and falsework products, has been awarded the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award for excellence in occupational health and safety performance. The company had to

provide evidence of good health and safety management systems by answering key performance questions, supported by a concise portfolio of relevant documentation. Sales Director Designate,
David Probert, said that the award follows the business’s success in achieving accreditation to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 quality standards.
BSS Industrial adds Snorkels
BSS Industrial, a division of Travis Perkins specialising in pipeline and heating products, has bought thirty Snorkel S3010P push-around scissor lifts. BSS has a network of more than 60 branches nationwide, each of which has a hire counter for trade customers. Steve Day, Divisional
Hire Director with TP, said, “Low level access is a new product line for BSS. The compact size and low weight of the Snorkel S3010P suits our customer base extremely well, and is very easy to operate and maintain.” The machine provides a maximum working height of 5m, has a lift capacity of 240kg and weighs 370kg.
