High work-rate Groundsman machines
The TMC26 turf cutter from Groundsman Industries is designed for good traction
and cutting ability with low vibration, and can be fitted with a choice of cutting blades 30cm to 60cm wide and to depths as low as 7.5cm. Large diameter, centrally located drive wheels are fitted to enable the
machine to cut in all types of grass surfaces and soil conditions. A range of other implements are available for various other tasks work down to 13cm depth, including a trench blade, subsoil de-compactor, mole drain and a cable insertion blade. Also available from the company, which will be exhibiting at Saltex, is the
345HD turf aerator, which has an overall width of 80cm, enabling it to go through most garden gates. Its crank-driven, plunge-action mechanism is designed to drive the tines into heavily compacted surfaces to a maximum depth of 13cm with little surface disruption. Quick-change hollow core, solid and slitting tines are available, as well as cluster tine heads for thatch removal.

The TurfTeq Power Rake is available from Groundscare Products, which says that the machine’s 915mm working width enables it to complete jobs faster than a rotavator. It can speed up stone removal, break soil down to a fine tilth and, because it tills only the top layer, the ground is immediately ready for use.
The machine, which will be displayed at Saltex, can also be used for
breaking up compacted surfaces such as self-binding gravel paths and golf buggy access ways. Brandon is amongst the hirer companies that have added the machine to their fleets.

For compacting base materials for hard landscaping projects, Altrad Belle offers the environmentally-friendly PCLX12/40E electric plate compactor. It has a removable low-vibration handle for easier transportation and storage, and incorporates a 12kN vibrator for faster compaction The machine is available in either
240V or 110V and is suitable for use indoors or in poorly ventilated areas, such as basement conversions and tunnel installations. It also does away with the need to store or handle fuel.

Autoculture’s rugged mowers
Ibea flail mowers, available from Autoculture, are designed to tackle heavy brush, overgrown grass, thistles and saplings while being easy to use, even by inexperienced operators.
For work on steep slopes, a crawler tracked
transmission option is available. Models are offered with Honda engines from 5.5hp to 14hp, and range from 60cm in width with 32 blades, up to 85cm wide with 48 blades. Autoculture will display some of the machines from its range at Saltex.
