Avant goes electric
Avant is officially introducing its e6 electric model this month. The battery-powered loader is in the same size class as the manufacturer’s 600 Series, offering zero emissions, low noise and minimal running costs. The machine is suitable for indoor use where ventilation is
limited. It has an integral charger and can be operated while being charged. When not in use, the e6 can be re-charged in one hour, the company says. It has two electric motors, one rated at 6kW for driving the machine, and a 2kW motor for loader boom operation and auxiliary hydraulics. Avant will promote the machine at Saltex.

John Deere will introduce its newly styled Gator XUV 865M utility vehicle at Saltex. It incorporates what the manufacturer describes as its quietest ever cab, more room for both driver and passengers, and a heating system that includes windscreen defrost, in order to maximise year-round productivity and comfort. Fitted with a 23hp diesel engine, CVT transmission and power
steering, and with a top speed of 31mph, the machine is designed to offer a tight turning circle and optimal weight distribution. It can be fitted with a choice of over 90 attachments. The cargo box has a load capacity of 454kg, while towing capability has been increased by a third to 907kg, and total payload capacity is 680kg.
