he UK’s independent, fee-paying schools are respected around the world. Many international students regard a British education as the ideal preparation for a place at a top university, and students from overseas comprise a third of the more than 70,000 pupils currently studying at the UK’s 500 or so boarding schools. In this section, we assess the appeal of a British education, and explain how families, whether they are already living in the UK or relocating from abroad, can ensure they have the best chance of obtaining a place at the independent school of their choice.
