Game changers: Sellers Containers reveal new solar and self-powered waste containers
SELLERS Containers, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of bins, skips and containers – and a subsidiary of the Visionscape Group – has launched two, new intelligent waste containers. The new products, the SolarStreetBinTM and the PEL Waste Reduction Equipment IoT Bin, are equipped with cloud-based software that generates real-time data feed and enables remote access.
The SolarStreetBinTM
monitoring current litter levels and transmit signals to a data management platform. This then sends out SMS or email alerts to users who can access the system via desktop and mobile devices.
PEL IoT Bin have sensors
Marcus Davies, Managing Director at Sellers Containers, said: “These intelligent waste bins are our response to the modern-day challenges of waste management. “Our products are meant to enable governments, municipalities and
and
businesses to implement a smarter way of collecting their waste, with less time, eff ort and cost. “By introducing the SolarStreetBinTM
and
PEL IoT bin to the market, especially in the UK, we aim to enhance public safety and well-being by eliminating incidences of overfl owing bins.” The wireless monitoring system shows bin locations and fi ll-level status, generates collection and servicing routes, facilitates tracking and communication, and tracks driver location. Real-time monitoring and tracking increases effi ciency by identifying bins that need servicing and generating corresponding collection routes – which reduces the number of visits needed, saves on time and costs, and lessens road traffi c and carbon emissions. The SolarStreetBinTM
has a built-in solar-
powered automatic compaction system, which increases its litter capacity by up to 10 times.
Innovative safety measures
Its three safety mechanisms automatically lock the bin and prevent physical access
when compaction begins, minimising the risk of accidents and user injury. PEL IoT Bin is non-compacting and self- powered by an integrated battery.
Built for long-term use, SolarStreetBinTM and PEL IoT Bin can withstand demanding applications, environmental factors, and extreme temperatures, from -40°C and up to 55°C, as tested in Norway and Dubai, UAE. SolarStreetBinTM
and PEL IoT meet CE
standards for health and safety, as well as ISO 9001 Standards for Design, Manufacturing, Supply and Service of Recycling and Waste Reduction equipment. Both Sellers IoT bins also comply with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations and Irish Standards.
