Expansion in waste market sees McHale Plant Sales plan for growth in 2019

AFTER being appointed as the Terex Ecotec range distributors for Northern and Southern Ireland, McHale Plant Sales of Birdhill and Rathcoole is planning for another busy year ahead. This is on the heels of a highly successful 2018, during which McHale’s year-on- year turnover rose by around 20 percent, which was in part fueled by their most recent environmental and waste recovery equipment addition. This is already giving them what their general manager, Denis McGrath, calls “a stronger environmental edge”. Strengthening its base amongst waste processors and contractors, Terex Ecotec – which includes waste shredders and wood chipping machinery – constitutes a product line attractive to general and green waste processors. Denis said: “Terex Ecotec provides us with a product off ering that complements others we represent and helps us to accentuate the one-stop appeal we have for those customers with whom we have strong links.”

Denis added: “In terms of activity in recent years, we have seen our footprint expand into forestry, waste, utilities, landscaping, and general materials handling. Also helping to fuel our growth were big increases in used equipment and after-sales activity.”

Additional lines broaden Terex Ecotec's appeal

Amongst the latest units unveiled in 2018 by Terex Ecotec was the new TBG 630 high-speed shredder – shown to the public for the fi rst time at the IFAT waste and recycling exhibition in Munich during May 2018. Powered by a 661HP V8 Scania engine, the TBG 630 has the capacity to process green waste at over 120 tonnes per hour. Described by McGrath to be “top of the food chain” in high-speed shredders, it has an open-fronted feeder, a swinging hammer rotor, and a sizing screen that can be customised to ensure the specifi cation of the end material

meets requirements. It should be noted that other units include an upgraded version of their popular TDS 820 slow-speed shredder and a TTS 620 Trommel waste separator, which is said to be the “ultimate in modern in trommel screen design”. Also launched in 2018 were four new conveyor systems that add to Terex Ecotec’s existing range: the TSC 100T, TRC 75, TFC 75 and TFC 75L models with varying height and conveying capacities. These four new machines complement their two existing self- powered tracked models.
