Industry leaders team up to launch New Generation skiploader

SCANIA has launched a fully built-up skiploader based on its 18-tonne gross vehicle weight New Generation P-series chassis.

Developed in conjunction with market leading skiploader equipment manufacturer, Hyva, the vehicle is available for order from any Scania UK dealer network sales outlet.

Scania (Great Britain) Limited's Sales Director, Andrew Jamieson said: “The New Generation P-series 4x2 rigid chassis is ruggedly-constructed, durable, reliable and safe.

Transmission is by way of Scania’s eight-speed GR875 range-change gearbox with fully-automated, two-pedal Scania Opticruise gear selection system.

“In addition to the skiploader’s highly fuel-effi cient on-road performance, the P-series provides a stable and sure-footed platform when working on-site.

“As such, it provides an ideal base for skiploader operation. By combining with Hyva we have a vehicle that is not only tailor-made for its application, but also off ers the convenience of a one-stop, cost- eff ective product which can be acquired and fully maintained with Scania as the sole source of supply.”

The Scania skiploader is available in either day-cab or short day-cab format, with steel suspension front and rear. Designed for economy and ease-of-operation, Scania seven or nine-litre engines can be specifi ed, with power steps of 220, 250, 280, 320 or 360 horsepower.
